Isabel Thornton

Executive Director, Ex-Officio Board Member

Isabel is the Executive Director of Restoration Housing, which she founded in 2014 out of a passion for historic preservation and affordable housing. She received a BA in Architectural History from the University of Virginia and an MHP and MPL in Historic Preservation and Urban Planning from the University of Southern California. She serves on the Board of Directors and the Real Estate Development Committee for Community Housing Partners; the Board of Directors for Carilion Medical Center; and on the Blue Ridge Interagency Council on Homelessness. Isabel lives on a farm in Botetourt County with her husband and four children.

Maribeth Mills

Advancement Manager

Maribeth is the Advancement Manager for Restoration Housing, overseeing all fundraising and marketing efforts in support of their mission. She received a BA in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington and a Masters in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. Past work experience includes serving as Coordinator for the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation, Urban Design Planner for the City of Roanoke, and Senior Planner for Bedford County. In her free time, Maribeth loves traveling to historic destinations, exploring the outdoors, swimming, and horseback riding. She lives in Roanoke County with her husband, two children, and five fur children.

Jerry Duncan

Facilities Manager

Jerry has over 20 years of property maintenance, carpentry, and landscaping experience and has a keen eye for historic properties. He is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and repair of our growing inventory of affordable rental units. Jerry is a native Roanoker, Board Member of the Roanoke Disc Golf Club, and percussionist for Circus Practice and Cinematheque.

Nina Gibson

Property Manager

Nina is the Property Manager for Restoration Housing, overseeing our properties and tenants for the organization.  She received a BA in Social Psychology and Criminal Justice, and Masters in Public Administration from Park University in Parkville, Missouri.  Past work experience includes working as a Mental Health Counselor, and Director of Operations for a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment Center.  In her free time, Nina enjoys exploring the outdoors, chasing waterfalls, photography, gardening, and knitting.  She resides in Roanoke County with her fur baby.

Trudee Chapman

Finance Manager

Trudee is the Finance Manager for Restoration Housing, overseeing all financial management areas. She received a BS in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration from Georgian Court University. Past work experiences include various level accounting positions in construction management, large hospital system, automotive and manufacturing industries. Originally moving to Virginia in 2017, she recently purchased a farm in Franklin County last year. Currently, all free time is spent planning development stages for house and farm renovations, and land planning for an orchard, greenhouse and meadows. She has 3 adult children, one of whom lives on the farm with her, her significant other and son-in-law and has just acquired four goats – the first of many fur children.
