👩‍👧During last year’s Preserve Campaign, we introduced you to Passion—a young tenant of Restoration Housing who was expecting her first child. Passion’s early life was marked by instability: after her mother’s struggle with substance use disorder led to her removal from the home, she was placed in foster care far from her siblings and extended family, and later struggled with unaffordable, substandard housing as a teenager on her own.
At just 18, Passion carried enormous responsibility—caring for her brother with cerebral palsy and her elderly grandfather—while facing the threat of homelessness herself. Asking for help wasn’t easy, but it opened the door to Restoration Housing, where she has now found stability for more than three years.
