ROANOKE, VA – Restoration Housing and Pinnacle Financial Partners are excited to announce the launch of its Preserve Campaign – Preserving History, Serving Community during its 10th anniversary year. A 10-minute video celebrates this momentous milestone by capturing the people and projects that have made Restoration Housing what it is today. Created by Emmy-winning investigative producer Asa Eslocker of Renaissance Planning in coordination with Firefli Media, the video tells the story of Restoration Housing through the lens of our staff (Isabel Thornton, Executive Director), residents (Passion and Cachet), contractor (Chad Brown, Square One Inc.), and community leaders (Rev. Joe Cobb and Dr. Kimberly Simcox). We’ll share an uplifting and intimate look at how Restoration Housing evolved, the complexities of our projects, and the people we serve through the perpetual management and stewardship of our properties.
Formed in 2014, Restoration Housing is a community-based, nonprofit developer focusing on affordable rental properties through the preservation of historic properties. At the core of everything Restoration Housing does is the belief that all people, regardless of circumstance, deserve to live in strong, healthy communities and dignified housing – the catalyst being the reinvestment in our historic built environment. Restoration Housing’s main objective is to help low to moderate income adults provide safe, secure, and comfortable homes for themselves and for their dependents at an affordable rent.
To date, Restoration Housing has restored seven properties with one under construction and two in the pipeline; representing $2,812,630 invested into under resourced communities with planned projects under construction and in the pipeline doubling that number. New projects include an inpatient treatment facility serving up to 64 pregnant and post-partum women with substance use disorder and infants annually; 15 units of affordable elderly housing serving 15 to 30 individuals, and two Permanent Supportive Housing units serving formerly homeless individuals.

The campaign launches September 19 with a full-length video and runs through October 17.
